Divergent

Hey everyone!!!! Just literally finished divergent! I don't really know if I like this book , I found it to be intresting yet very odd at the same time. To me the book was like a cross over from across the universe, matched and hunger games to some extent. A very odd combination let me tell you. I think ou should give it a sot, even though I feel very confused about the whole thing. Happy reading all!!!! Ciao!

Brother blogging???

Apparently my brother Dan is now a follower blogger. I found this to be intresting and hope he has a good time blogging as I am already having. My brother's blog is on blog spot if you wish to go check it out, happy reading all!!! Ciao

The name of the star

I just finished the name of the star yesterday around 3:30 pm. This book is a paranormal, thriller I would call it. The novel is set in England at a boarding school. The whole novelist set around the jack the ripper phenomen from the 1880s. Apparently in the book there was someone mimicking these exact murders and they couldn't seem to figure it out like the original. The creepiest part in my opinion was that it was happening exactly like the originals down to the date, time and how these people were murdered. I found the novel quite intresting and is set a quite a good pace. Definitely recommend the book.

Cloaked and Of Posiden

Hey all!!!! It is now the lovevly weekend!!!!! I was able to read two different books last night, the first being Cloaked. Cloaked is by Alex Finn who also wrote Beastly if anyone has read that. To be truthful I have read many books over the span of my short time being on our lovevly planet that we call earth. This particular novel didn't stand out to me what so ever. Basically it's a quick boring teenage read. I personally didn't like the style of the book, but give the author props for attempting
do something a bit different . I didn't like the way she used the grim fairy tales either, I feel like any one could have wrote this particular book. The second book I read was called Of Posiden, which definitely captured my interest from the summary alone. This book was quite a lot better at taking a pre-existing story and completely manipulating it to tell a brand new story of its own. Definitely a lot interesting on many levels, especially after taking Greek mythology and completely redoing the whole basis of what you think you know about Posiden himself. Highly recommend Of Posiden, not Cloaked. Happy reading to everyone!!! Leave comments and suggestions below, please and thank you!!! Ciao

The lost princes

I have recently read The Lost Princes, it is a memoir of a journey. This book had me laughing at times but also bawling in others. This is a rare book that I have found that gets the complexities of human life right. The emotions come full circle and really makes you realize how blessed we are individually . This book changed my outlook on life and I have a new found respect for those who really go out of their way to make someone else's life even a fraction bit better . Nepal is a very war torn country where the majority of the novel takes place. I truly find it inspiring what this one guy did inspite of the civil war in Nepal to find these families and help reunite them after being years apart. The saddest thing about the trafficking of these unfortunate children, is that these families thought they were helping them to survive, but in actuality made them worse for wear. This TRULY is a GREAT NOVEL and I highly recommend. If anyone wants to leave me a reading suggestion or comment go right ahea. Happy reading to everyone!!!! Ciao

Queen of Water

Hey everyone, haven't been on in a while. Have been very busy with the start of my senior year of high school!!!!! It has been very exciting so far and feels like a good year. I have just started the teen reads for Florida! I have just read Queen of Water by Laura Resau and Maria Virginia Farinango. This book is about a Incan girl from Ecuador whose parents basically sell her to mestizos( mixed between Incan and Spanish decent). I felt like this book was very powerful and chosen for a very good reason. It gives a glimpse into Ecuadorean society and some of their customs. What I felt was the biggest seller, was the way the authors interacted with you like you were family or a close friend. This novel showed how even in modern society, that there is still slavery in a way. That others will take advantage of you especially if they think or consider you inferior. The book is based upon a true story and really makes you think about taking advantage of the life you have. But also to learn to appreciate the simplest things and be grateful on a basic level. Hope you guys have happy reading, and let me know what you are reading by leaving me a comment! Ciao

Being respectful and considerate of others around you

Hey All, my first week of school is practically over!!! Haven't read anything new lately  but I would like to share my thoughts and feelings on something that means quite a lot to me actually. I have been reading quite a bit about mental disorders and I would just like to throw something out there. Everyone freaks out when they find out that someone in particular has a mental disorder. I am so tired of the whole issue with these types of people. Just because they have a disorder doesn't make them any less human. In my lifetime, so far at least, people have always treated very different and would make fun of me to my face. For a very long time I wouldn't understand that is what they were doing, and now that I do, I feel very ashamed and pity them. Others would be over bearing while trying to help me after I told them that I had a form of autism. Just because I am odd and have some weird quirks doesn't mean I cannot handle everything or anything. The majority of the time I can, but sometimes I need help, just like everyone else. Simply put, I have learned to adapt myself and. Figure out how to survive in this world. Another thing, is that if you know someone is different, DON'T point it out. That, I have found is very frustrating on top of all the frustrating things with social interaction to begin with. Anyways, all I am basically trying to say is please just be respectful and don't make assumptions and if you want to know that person or how to interact with them, may it be any mental disorder, simply ASK!!!!!

last day of summer !!!!

So, today is my last day of summer before my senior year of high school begins. The time has really flown by, especially this particular summer. I am both excited yet a little nervous to start the new year. I don't know why but this particular year feels a bit different than the years previous. I have read all of my books for AP Lit, and have all my supplies just waiting for tomorrow to come now. I definitely feel that this year will be my best year in terms of socially and also just the atmosphere of it all. I can't wait to see what'll happen and the different people and friends I make. Happy Reading and to all of those starting school have a wonderful first day, Ciao!!!!

grey wolves series by Quinn Loftis

Hey All, I have just recently started to read the Grey Wolves series by Quinn Loftis. I am pleasantly surprised by this series. For quite a while i didn't want to read it because of the whole werewolf thing going on. The Books are thoroughly enjoyable to read, the author took the time to research different legends and myths to help influence the novels. That said, it gives me a respect for the author due to the fact that she is willing to actually take the time to really develop the story  thoroughly instead of being a crappily put together story just to put a book out there. I have been able to read three of the novels, one right after each other.I have a difficult time putting the books down, which is a definite good thing. Other news is that i will be starting school again soon, so i will try my best to update once a week if i have the time. Ciao, and happy reading to all!!!

first time blogger

I have recently just decided to start blogging for god only knows reasons and I think I might have just found my forte.I don't really know what to say here, so I am just going to talk directly with you if that's alright. I have always been a reader, often preferring to read while others my age played with other kids that are their own age. Reading is very personal to me, as it takes me to another world that is often quite more rich and I actually like a lot better than my own.I will read anything from classics to classical to fantasy and modern literature and "summer beach books". Music is the same way for me, I will listen to anything from french pop, to american pop and middle eastern pop and Bollywood. I find that I enjoy other cultures quite thoroughly. A little background on me is that I spent about 10 years living in Stuttgart,Germany so I am quite used to foreign cultures and infusion of them. I hope to talk with anyone who is willing to listen... for now I will be gone but back shortly. Happy reading to all of you and go explore a foreign culture!!!
